Location: 
Brentwood, NY (Central Long Island)
Job Description: 
  • Track the production schedules and shipping deadlines in order to ensure timely orders for required materials
  • Ensure on-time receipt of and expedite materials as needed for customer requirements
  • Build relationships with suppliers for transportation and warehousing
  • Reconcile inventory balance and conduct cycle counting, and monthly, quarterly physical inventory
  • Generate and adjust purchase orders to support production schedules and monitor status of the order through to receipt of product
  • Notify and resolve with supplier any quality issues, defects, delivery shortages/overages and receiving/invoicing discrepancies
  • Maintain purchasing files, logs, and related records as needed
  • Identify and analyze transaction errors
  • Set material delivery schedules
  • Manage returns of defective materials, and disposition of waste materials
  • Follow-up the pending issues to ensure the production schedules meet customer requirements
  • Provide administrative support, which includes: maintaining the purchase order filing system; preparation of documents and management reports; answering phone inquiries
  • Providing better communications and negotiations with the vendors
  • Performs other job functions as assigned
  • Work with operations and maintenance departments to order spare and replacement parts as needed.
Skills / Requirements: 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivated, adaptable and have a positive attitude
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Tissue converting experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Excel, QuickBooks highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
